F1 fans were more mature until we got Football-style fans claiming to be Hamilton's biggest fan "4EVA"

I'll never forget that clown behind me at Silverstone 2008.

"GODDDDD SAVVEEE THe Queeeeennn" - in a drunken way

Then the woman with him said, "Oh no look Heikki's spun"

and then he said (despite being dressed in full Mclaren team attire) "Ah f*** Heikki who gives a f*** about him? Come on Lewis!" *blow horn blasting*

Yeah, some of them only go to get drunk, act stupid and not for the spectacle. Remember when we were walking to the fair on the Friday night and walked past some drunk-as-hell Sheffield United fans chanting as if they were on the Kop at Bramall Lane? (they were chanting a song that is often sung at Sheffield United matches, and I used to be a fan of them before I walked away from Football, that's how I was able to identify them!) They probably only turned up because of Lewis or Button and nothing else... except maybe the hope of running into some Wednesday fans and starting a big punch-up with them.

But on the whole, F1 fans are a better class of people than Football fans are (and that includes the Prawn Sarnie brigade).

Ewan, I bet that fan was one of the mass exodus of fans from the stands when Hamilton got knocked out in Q1. :hehe:

Yeah I remember them, bloody drunks. We were going to the fair for all of the right reasons ;).
Mind you the way I needed the toilet you'd think I would have been drunk. :hehe:

Yeah there was a few people leaving as soon as Lewis got knocked out. Absolutely crazy :hehe: So much for "fans of the sport" eh?

Yep, we were going to that neat shop selling retro-gear where I picked up that classic 1990 Williams team shirt and your brother picked up some Super Aguri gear. :)

 OH NO NO Gareth isn't my brother. Did you think he was? :hehe:

Do you remember that unsocialable lanky guy I was think. That's his brother.

Yep. As a supporter from across the other side of the city I full agree with you. Although Old-firm violence isn't as high as previously, it is still awful whenever it kicks off. Glasgow's shame?

Yup, probably the biggest reason ive swayed away from football and got more into motorsport as there is a better class of person/fan following motorsport, like i said earlier in the thread when was the last time you heard somebody shout "you f,ing w"nker" at a passing F1/Rally car lol

Yeah, then Hamilton came along.

To be fair, although alot of Brawwn hats at Silverstone, I haven't witnessed the same Jenson bumming as Hamilton got last year,
#141011
To be honest I wouldn't wanna witness anyone bumming Lewis Hamilton. :hehe:

Good job nobody's made a "sparta mix" for James Allen's "Hamilton moments" yet then. :hehe:

Was ensonB a ginger out oof interest?

Very sad as well as some football fans can feel suicidal if their teams loses! Come on there is more to life... but sadly not for some :/

Same in F1 with some people
