There was just a Nelson Piquet question on the weakest link about which current F1 driver has the same name as his World Championship winning father

WRONG

Appropriate that they should be discussing him on that particular show.

My lasting memory of how poorly Piquet was treated, despite ultimatums, was Flavio leaving the Hungarian GP after Alonso had retired, whilst Piquet was still racing. What does that say about the commitment from Renault to it's second driver?

I understand that Piquet would never match up to Alonso, but it seems more obvious why when you see things like this happen... :( Hope Piquet picks himself up and moves on stronger for it :D

If I was an up and coming driver looking to start an F1 career I wouldn't touch that Renault seat with a bargepole...

It's quite obvious that Flavio only really liked two of his "children"...

Anne Robinson would make a better team boss than Flavio.

Flavio is a brilliant team leader, my favourite team manager. He is a complete nut job, which is what F1 is lacking most these days. F1 is for the best drivers in the world and Piquet aint in the top 20.

Nor are some other drivers Flavio has spoken out against before that are still there that I totally agree should not be on the grid at all.

His approach is admittedly unorthodox but it has worked in the past & it will work again.

It was only a matter of time. Piquet problem is that he needs to be mollycoddled by an adoring team where he is top dog, something that he always had thanks to his Dad. Flavio's number one is Alonso and Piquet would always start as a bit part player.

Secondly Piquet has a point when he says he was treated unfairly. He had a very different car to Alonso for much of the season but even so I still think that it was good enough to at least get out of Q2 and lets not mention the amount of times that he spun out of races (on his own error) and cost the team possible constructor points. Most other team bosses would have given Piquet another season but Flav isn't your average boss!

Don't worry Nelsinho Daddy will sort it out.

Which is why Renault isn't a good destination for a young driver as most young F1 drivers need nurturing to thrive, I don't like Flavio Briatore, I think he is an arrogant arse; anyone would think he works for Ferrari!!! I doubt whether Grosjean will do any better under Briatore while he has his pet Alonso!
