I like Renault and I love the team, but i'm still one of these fans who loves the idea of a Constructor and then an engine partner.

That is why I loved Renault when they were Benetton. However in this day and age it just isn't possible.

I think he just prefers Renault being a team in its own right.

Even though they currently supply another team... >.>

I don't see what the problem would be, however I'd rather see Williams-Audi than anything else, at present. You know, provided Audi wanted to enter and built some good engines. :)

see id like to see audi works team, [or one of VWs other sportier divisions]

Lamborghini!! 8-)

Unfortunately i don't think VW will enter at the moment under any name, cause of the Bugatti Veyron project.

Ditto, should be awesome to see him in the Silver car. I'm a fan of Nico.

i cn definitly see that as a move, and a positive one at that, hes a driver i would be quite happy to have at renault lol

You don't get many like Nico, like in my fantasy league i've signed him up for next season. He's a good driver that comes under the radar? Like and under dog. I'd love him at Ferrari to be honest, i think he should go McLaren let them form him into a real champion then Ferrari would snatch him... Like Kimi really.... I really like Nico and want to see him fighting for that title... lets hope 2010 him in McLaren would form that opportunity.

His helmet would like kind of coo in the car

From F1 Live:

Amid speculation regarding Heikki Kovalainen's future with McLaren Mercedes, Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh has admitted that a decision on whether to retain the Finn beyond the current season has yet to be taken.

Kovalainen helped his cause this morning in practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix by topping the timesheets, but his season as a whole has been largely disappointing with just two points scoring results.

Mercedes is openly keen on pitting Lewis Hamilton against former GP2 nemesis Nico Rosberg next year, and the contractual situations of both Rosberg and Kovalainen - who joined the team in 2008 - would allow the move.
Click here to find out more!

Whitmarsh believes Kovalainen has done a "good job" but "could have done a better job on occasions".

"I think within the team he is very comfortable, he's publicly stated he wants to stay in the team and that's something that we are talking to his management about," the Briton added.

Heikki really could do with a strong result this weekend. He was good in Hungary last year and the year before, as well as in GP2. If he manages to get on the podium (though I'm expecting that the podium would include Barrichello, Button and Webber in some order) then some more consistency for the rest of the season might save him from getting the axe. Of course, if McLaren can't tempt Rosberg away from Williams, I don't think they will drop Kovalainen.

agreed, but ultimately i think they really want a German driver either way.... so unless Heikki wins the WDC i think he is a goner :(

I dunno. If he beats Hamilton to McLaren's first win this year, who knows? I doubt it will happen, though. I could see him ending up at Williams in Rosberg's place if they sign Nico.

It will be nice for them both to swap and prosper.

I do like Heikki, but he has frustrated me at times, somethings have been down to pure bad luck whereas a few things havent. I would love to see what Nico would bring to the team.
