(I posted this in another thread, figured it might make sense to post it over here as well.)

At first I was exited to hear that it was going to air on FOX, and then I watched the first race in Turkey... It was complete and utter sh!t. Every 5 seconds or so it would either black out or get all distorted for a moment, the most notable instance was about 3 seconds into the race, I missed almost everything that happened in the first few turns, this went on all race... After already being rather annoyed at the poor video feed, I had almost gotten used to it when with about 10 laps left, it cut to my local FOX weather man with a "Tornado Warning" and spent about 5 minutes showing me radar images! After that was over there was still about 7 laps to go, at this point i'm really pissed, but I think i'm in the clear, I was wrong. Not more than 2 laps passed, and again, they cut back to the stupid weather man and another "Tornado Warning". this was virtually identical to the first one and went on until the final lap of the race. I saw the checkered flag wave, but not much else.

If anyone from FOX is reading this, unless the tornado is about to rip off my roof, suck me up into the air, and tear me apart into a million tiny peaces, I ain't interested. And under no other circumstances, DO YOU INTERRUPT MY RACE!!!

The British Grand Prix was a hint better, but its not hard to improve on garbage.

Thankfully I have been spared the Fox coverage as it falls at the same time as my weekly visit to my inlaws... seems that I wasn't missing much! I can't wait for it to move back to Speed for some sensible coverage even if it is at 7am in the morning!

Tivo, DVR...whatever you wanna call it....recording F1 is the only reason I have it. Nothing like waking up on a sunday morning on my own schedule, making breakfast, pouring some OJ...adding the proper amount of Jamaican rum...and clicking play on the race, fast forwarding through commercials....rewinding to watch Hamilton go down a lap 4 or 5 times...and hitting pause when the OJ glass gets low.

Recording in high def surround sound...that is what F1 is all about. Technology to the rescue.

I blame sitting through too many 24 hours of Daytona and 12 hours of sebring, beer in hand as the sun came up, for my desire to have a drink in hand when F1 is on. I don't drink much otherwise, and never in the morning but for some reason...crack of dawn and motor racing is only proper with a little alcohol mixxed in. Mixing it with OJ is my nod to the gods that breakfast is a healthy time. :) If I had to get up at 3am to watch the races....it would have to be mixxed with caffeine of some sort.

I drink there for I am! When hurricane Ike trashed us last year and we were without power for 24+hr's and mentaly exhuasted I wokeup at 5am and poured myself a double Jack and Coke. I dont give a rat's arse about other's opinion, life is short and I have and will continue to march to the beat of my own drummer.

Oh yah I almost forgot FOX'S F1 COVERAGE SUCKS A BIG DONKEY??

ps,
I forgot to add that I did stay at a Holliday Inn Express last night!!

Unfortunately money is tight right now; we're pushing the boat out for the cable package as it is!

Maybe I'll pick up a cheap USB TV card for my laptop to record the race through mediacenter.

Why do you guys torture yourselves? Just download the race and you'll live happily ever after! BBC gives an hour of pre-race, the race, post-race, press conference and for this race they even had a 45 min post, post race show to get extra interviews due to the nature of the race. Why suffer with crappy coverage?

Where do I go to download the race from the BBC? I'm in NYC and I agree about the sucky Fox coverage.

you can't legally uk people pay our tv licence so we can watch it which costs losts of monies and if the BBC find out your stealing their tv programs then they tell the Queen and no less than 100 SAS trained corgi's come and eat you.

I can usually find torrents of practice, qualifying, and the race up pretty quickly after they air. I use torrentz.com, just search F1 2009 and it will bring up all the F1 torrents over most of the major torrent sites, you can just take your pick. It's usually the BBC coverage, the only downside is that they are brand new torrents, so there is only 1 or 2 seeders with a few hundred leechers, this brings the download speeds to a crawl, but if you give it 12 hours or so after the actual air time, its usually not too bad. I also use VLC Media Player to play them, I hate installing tons of codecs.

Oh yes, I am also in the states BTW, hope this helps.

Na it's not. None of FOM's feeds are in HD :( Rumours say they will be for Abu Dhabi.
