Rubens was clearly very emotional after the race. What will be the punishment to his rant?

Rubens Barrichello on what went wrong: "I guess the strategy... it was a good show from the team on how to lose a race today. I'm terribly upset with the way things went. I did all I had to do. I went first on the first corner and then they made me lose the race. If it is really what's going on, we're going to end up losing both championships. I feel sorry for myself, the team. To be very honest, I wish I could get on the plane and go home. I don't want to talk to anyone in the team. It will be all 'bla bla bla' and I don't want to hear that."

To be honest that race looked like Brawn were trying to loose it, 3 stopping and then putting Jenson on Soft tires on his last stint when he'd been going like a Bl**dy rocket on the hards, Rubens just didn't go fast enough but the strategy was appalling, I was jumping about like a mad man, unable to believe what I was seeing.

Well done Mark by the way, I always just thought he was a good qualifier but he's come on some in the racing stakes.

To be honest, I'm just as puzzled by the Brawn team today as Rubens. As soon as Webber pitted, I'd have considered switching to the two-stop strategy. They certainly threw the possibility to challenge for the win away, and what would almost certainly have been a podium finish.

I think (hope) that he's just incredibly frustrated about things not quite working out for him.

once webber got the drive through the optimum thing would have been to convert to a two stopper! but then its easy to say and besides Ross and that, they know what the tyre degradation would be like on a two stopper! it was bad enough on a 3!

Ross appears to agree with Rubens. Brawn did lose him the race. Ross feels it was due to speed and Rubens the decisions. Be interesting to sit in the debrief :hehe:

he is not a happy chappy. i think finishing behind Button is whats irking him the most.

Yeah, having him switch places with Button is now becoming so predictable even an inanimate carbon rod could have seen it coming.

I still don't get the decision to switch to softs on the last stint, Jenson was much faster on the hards, If he had been on the hards you never know, he might have got Rosberg at the end, certainly Jenson was one of the few drivers today that pulled off any overtaking.

As soon as I heard Jenson was closing on Nico I thought "oh no, here we go again...", but luckily Button quickly grained his tyres and that allowed Nico to pull away.

yea it didnt take him long did it, what was it three or four laps to kill his tires?

Brawn got things badly wrong today, but Barrichello's outburst are a sign of desperation to win a race and paranoia about his role within the team. I can sympathise with him somewhat, especially because of what happened to him at Ferrari.

Rubens has a fair point, he just had a bit of an outburst. He is just a man who wears his heart on his sleeve.

Really, Brawn lost it today with that strategy. It seemed more like an act of desperation to win this weekend, rather than an actual strategy. They were beat fair and square today by both Ferrari and Williams, and almost Renault. Thats now two races were Brawn have slumped, they need a good result now at Hungary, or else Red Bull, full of confidence will be right behind them.

I think he might have been wise not to make such a public display, but I can understand where he's coming from.
