LEWIS HAMILTON was involved in a foul-mouthed bust-up with McLaren boss Ron Dennis after his bid for pole was sabotaged in Hungary yesterday.

Hamilton was fuming after missing his final qualifying lap when team-mate Fernando Alonso delayed his exit from the pits.

The 22-year-old Brit then swore at Dennis over the team radio, blasting: "Don't ever f****** do that to me again." Dennis hit back, blasting: "Don't ever f****** speak to me like that."

But Hamilton responded: "Go f****** swivel."

The row came after Hamilton had to settle for second on the grid for today's race.

Hamilton was livid as he was forced to wait behind Alonso in the pits. The Spaniard had been cleared to leave by the team but stayed rooted to the spot for a vital 10 SECONDS.

It appeared his PHYSIO Fabrizio Borra ordered him to stay put, making sure Hamilton would not have enough time for one more lap.

It meant Hamilton was forced to wait before getting his final set of tyres and the delay meant he missed the cut-off point to start his final flying lap.

Dennis said: "I was quite firm on the radio and Lewis was reasonably firm back. But to give the detail of the language would serve no function."

The duo also exchanged words after qualifying before Hamilton angrily pulled away from the McLaren chief. Alonso took a crucial pole position — on a track where overtaking is notoriously difficult — by just 0.107 secs.

You tell him Lewis!! LMAO!:mrgreen:

Ron has dealt with bigger characters than Alonso and Hamilton, i.e. Senna and Prost, so will know how to handle them.

Yeah, but he's getting old and seemed quite shaken by the spy scandal... Just go home old man.

More like his response to Ferrari was stinging and revealed new light on a lot of matters. Now Ferrari partisans want him out. Long live Ron! Surely he's due his knighthood now; Frank Williams has got his.

Suddenly F1 is set alight again - shame it's in the pits and board room though! I can see another Sunday when the GP programme buildup has insufficient time to cover the issues properly and the race proper has too much time to evolve into a cavalcade of pretty motor cars! But an angry Alonso might provide some entertainment as he tries to battle past Heidfeld!

If a rookie acts like that, what you have to do?...

Ron Dennis lives and breathes McLaren. He may have cried a week or two ago, however, when Senna left the team in '93 he was also upset about that. Now get real. You are coming out with complete crap now.

Found this today:

According to F1GrandPrix.it, Ron Dennis could sell McLaren before the end of the season. The rumour has been going on for several months, but the current difficult moment for the Woking team could persuade Dennis to take this step.

The espionage scandal, then the burst of the Alonso-Hamilton struggle: Ron Dennis appeared visibly stressed at the end of the Hungarian GP. This is not the first time the English manager is managing difficult situations inside his team, but lots of insiders think this is the worst period in McLaren history.

While he was able to manage the Senna-Prost saga, Dennis doesn't seem to succeed in controlling his driver line-up anymore. Himself admitted the quarrel between Alonso and Hamilton is worse than the ones he experienced in the late 80s.

At sixty, Dennis could have reached the time to retire. Mercedes, after increasing his shares in the team during the last seasons, is keen on buying 100% of the historic English team.

Also, the worsened relationships with the Prodrive team seem to exclude Dennis from taking a role into the second Mercedes team after leaving McLaren. After 27 years in the stressful Formula One world, this could be the time for Ron Dennis to quit the business.

Personally, I don't think the current situation is worse than the Prost-Senna war, although it might have the potential to escalate.

My own opinion on Ron Dennis leaving the team would be quite a sad event. He's synonymous with McLaren and be there through the highs and lows of the team. In saying that, he can be very proud of what he's given the team and Formula One in as a whole, so he has earned his right to leave and can hold his head up high. I don't think Ron Dennis' visible stress is much more than normal, he has only done it publically this time. When Senna left the team he was no doubt quite hurt according to sources close to him, feeling that Senna should have stayed and helped the team through the bad times instead of looking to jump ship as soon as the car was not up to stand.

The team being sold has always worried me as we don't know what the deal could entail. Would the team still be classed as British? Would the McLaren marque live on? etc.

Doesn't make a frigging diff whether it's a British team or not - geez, get off your mighty high horse! And the Sauber name is still around, so will McLaren (they even sell road cars under that name).

Can of worms - opened.

That's why I rate Schumacher above Senna, Schumacher always made his teams great where Senna always chose the fastest car.

Can of worms - closed.

Getting back on topic, you have to have a lot of passion to make a Formula One team successful, Ron shedding a few tears only shows he is human. To have a Rookie, which he has nurtured for most of his racing career, to talk to you like that is a real slap in the face and I would be fairly upset as well.

LH needs to remember he's driving a very very good car at the moment. Even Schumacher at the height of his game would never dream of speaking to Jean Todt or Ross Brawn like that.

LH's stock has gone way down in my books after that foul mouthed display.

Whether the team is British or not is only one of my concerns you clown as was clearly shown in my post. It's nothing to do with me on a power trip or anything.

*Comes along with RPG and blows firewall back to the stone age*

Who made Benneton great? Schumacher and Rory Byrne and Ross Brawn. Who made Ferrari great? Schumacher was given full authority to appoint a technical team. Thus Ferrari poached who esle by Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne. It's cringeworthy to see the straw-clutching at times from Ferrari-Schumacher partisans.

With regards to nationality, it depends probably on the nationality of who would buy the team out. McLaren started out as a Kiwi team as its founder was the late Bruce McLaren. The name's not changed since his death, even when Ron merged it with Project 4 racing, and it would be pretty disrespectful to Bruce if the name was changed.

I think Dennis will want at least a few more World Championships before he considers selling. He's not old, he's only 60. He's got enough experience to whip Alonso and Hamilton into shape if he wants to.
