Whitmarsh is the kneejerk reaction.

Haug?

Definitely not Ryan.

Now that Todt has left Ferrari, who is he contracted to?

Wait a second - looks like Dennis is not retiring, but simply moving aside to the sports car business as announced a long time ago. He already relinquished the CEO role to Whitmarsh, and there's no sign of this changing. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74495

I'd hardly say Ron Dennis has retired. He's basically given up any remaining influence he had over the Formula One side of things at McLaren. This in itself is not big news. The two things which lie behind it is pretty important, however. First, the Hamiltons, ungrateful pieces of pond scum that they are, don't want him involved in McLaren's Formula One set up; Dennis has left to increase the chances of Hamilton staying at McLaren. Some may see it as a noble, but I think it's a sign of weakness. Dennis has gone soft in recent times by allowing the Hamiltons to get away with whatever they want. The second reason is that there are unanswered questions into his role after the Australian Grand Prix. Although there's no proof of exactly what happened, rumours abound and McLaren's silence is deafening. Although I can see why Dennis might have told Hamilton and Ryan to stick to their original stories, it was nothing other than madness, given the team's relationship with Ecclestone, the FIA and the spy scandal still lingering. In light of these things, perhaps it was time to go for Dennis. What worries me, however, is that Whitmarsh is going to be running the whole Formula One team. He's a decent engineer and a nice guy, but he's demonstrated that his management skills are absolutely non-existent. I'd rather see Whitmarsh get demoted and somebody else who's capable take over the running of the team

wow breaking news, but nothings really changed since Ron announced he will step down as Team Principal! obviously just a ploy to try and get in good favour of the draconian scum of the FIA. Dunno if it'll work.

Do you actually have any proof of this, or are you merely disseminating unfounded rumour and hearsay?

It was asserted by the Times that Hamilton Sr pressured Ron out. There is of course no proof of this at this point but the facts are that Ham man and to a lesser extent Ham boy are extremely ambitious and that Ron's move is very odd in terms of its timing, if the official reasons given are to be believed. I agree with what McLaren Fan says because to me, that is the most logical explanation at this stage. When new information comes to light, this may all change of course.

I agree with you on the Liegate situation and how poorly it was managed, however I'm wondering where your information comes from about the Hamiltons wanting him to leave. Are you throwing this in as your own opinion because of your dislike for the Hamiltons or are you basic this on some information the rest of us have yet to see?

I find it very difficult to believe that Anthony Hamilton could have so much influence over McLaren that he could force Ron out. The whole idea seems preposterous. Does anyone have any proper evidence that this might actually have happened.

"The next race, the Malaysian Grand Prix, I watched on TV in the UK - an activity I found surprisingly easy. I'd expected to be more emotional about it, after an unbroken run of attending so many grands prix for so many years.

"I admit I'm not always easy to get on with. I admit I've always fought hard for McLaren in Formula 1. I doubt if Max Mosley or Bernie Ecclestone will be displeased by my decision. But no-one asked me to do it. It was my decision.

"Equally, I was the architect of today's restructure of the McLaren Group. Again, no-one asked me to do it. It was my decision.

"I feel enormously enthused about the prospects for the McLaren Group and for McLaren Automotive, and have no qualms about leaving Martin to report to the board regarding matters connected with Formula 1."

How can Hamilton pushed him out. Not a chance!!

Dennis has been the main man for years Antony Hamilton has no authority over anything.
