Took your time McLaren Fan ... but by golly !!!!! I think he's got it !!!!

I've nearly liked Hamilton. I only tolerated him because he's a talented driver. He's gone too far now.

No disrespect but I think you have some serious screwed up thinking regarding hamilton. Bin trying to figure out why and I think Ive figured it.Not gonna say it on here though.

[racechick]

Its easy to say that when you're not in the hot seat.

I've kept pretty quiet about this, but I feel I can no longer remain silent. I find this idea that Hamilton is in some way immature and naive as an offence personally. I've had a much less privileged background than most and have managed to do quite well for myself. Why am I not immoral etc.? I've certainly got a better excuse than Hamilton will ever have. So, please, spare me the bullpoo. I'm tired, fed up and frustrated listening to any sob stories from Hamilton, his arrogant pig of a father, McLaren themselves, and his mindless followers. Hamilton is letting his team take the bullet for him. He's already cost one man his career and reputation. And, as if that's not enough, he definitely wants to desert McLaren because of a situation partly of his making. Hamilton is nothing more than scum.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

[Jabberwocky]

with this whole Hamilton doing what he was told thing, I wonder where in the rank structure a driver is?

Management wise not that high maybe the same level as their engineer but when you consider their value then they are probably one of if not the most valuable asset a team has.

DC has come out and said he's been in a simlar situation, and he might of done the same thing.

I've been in that situation many times and you trust your team - you trust the integrity and safety of the car, so why would you not trust them when they give you a guideline on what to say?

two wrongs dont make a right - I think the way the saying goes. my answer to your Q is yes - I believe davey took the fall. DC is even more stupid to put in his 2 cents with a remark like that. Its not gonna help hamilton. the only way is the right way. if you tell the truth - chances are that you wont contradict yourself.

DC is stupid? well he's been in Mclaren and hes Been in those situations unlike you so i'd go along with what he says every time rather some armchair pundit who knows sweet fa like you.

You have the right to your opinion but hear this - dont bring DC into this- you thinking like a woman now, chopping and changing as the conversation goes -a time will come that you agree with me or rather everybody else where hamilton is concerned and I hope you will act like a grownup and own up. !!!

No DC made a comment on this situation so thefore its in context stupid.

and like i posted he feels that hamilton could of been talked into this.

And don't be such a hypocrite man because the only person acting like a kid around here is you.

I've yet to see a compelling argument that Hamilton is not at least as culpable as Ryan.

read dc's blog pretty compelling consdering:

1. He worked for Mclaren for several years
2. hes been in situations like that
3. he knows what that side of F1 is about

If somone with that kind of experience says this is proberly whats happened then thats proberly what happened.

No one on this fourms has really been in that situation with the FIA so were all just speculating.

I've already read it.

Why comment still stands.

Well because he was lead into it, and although hes 24 hes still young and perhaps easily infulenced.

Futhermore he trusts the team as dc's says he has too so if they say jump hes going to ask how high.

Don't get me wrong i don't think hes a lemming and he made a mistake.

To be fair though it could of been any driver hekki for example and i still think we'd be in this situation.

That's supposed to read "My comment"

Anyway, returning to the matter at hand:

Stupidity and lack of wisdom are no excuse for doing what is clearly wrong, and youth is no excuse for stupidity and a lack of wisdom anyway (Especially when we're talking about a 24 year old where people almost a decade younger have pointed out it's obvious he was in the wrong).

No matter which way you slice it, Hamilton was either cheating or being an idiot (Or both actually). Take your pick, but none of them exonerate him.

Not saying either should exonerate him, but alot of people seam to think Hamilton is to blame.

Thats not the case who ever came up with this idea is to blame not sure if thats Davey on his own or Mclaren but its not Lewis.

No one's saying he's exonerated. No one's saying what he did isnt wrong. A 14 year old may point out he is in the wrong but I doubt his/her life experiences really qualify him/her to pass judgement on why hamilton did what he did.

By saying he is definitely less guilty than Dave Ryan, that's exactly what you're doing.

A child knows that when asked a question whose answer will be used to decide whether to dole out a punishment and to who, it is wrong to lie.

[McLaren Fan]

Took your time McLaren Fan ... but by golly !!!!! I think he's got it !!!!

I don't see how Hamilton is at any more at fault than McLaren.

I'm not saying that Hamilton is any more to blame than Ryan. What I am saying is I don't believe Hamilton was the innocent lamb he's made out to be. And in the unlikely event he was led astray, he should still be blamed for being so bloody naive.

In terms of Coulthard's article, those who cite it (usually in support of Hamilton) fail to notice the contradiction in it. On one hand, Coulthard says you rely on your team, and on the other he says both the team manager and driver are involved in what is said. So, a bit of selective (and subjective) reading going on, it seems.

[kerc]

There are amazing people here. They know more about how F1 works than David Coulthard! Wow.
