I would never presume to know what Lewis, or anyone else for that matter, is thinking. You must have a very special ability.

Well I think everyone has made good points.

Hammer- yes Lewis had a superb two years at McLaren, not denying that at all. But I think he'd like to have multiple championships with them and stayed with them his whole career. Wasn't to be
WB- yes we ( as Lewis fans) know why and when it went wrong
Operaman - no we can't mind read Lewis, but we can read situations. And Lewis does express his feelings.
Sagi - yes ultimately it was the best for Lewis, some people would never credit him his success if it had all been with McLaren. If he does it for another team they will have to.

What a great race from Lewis, that was more exciting than most F1 races. Lewis has carved through the field in every series

Maybe because some of us think that Lewis is not that simple, and he had other reasoning behind his decision that he chose not to share. I think of Lewis as being a complex and intelligent person, he probably gave the decision to leave a great deal of thought. That he might have chosen not to reveal everything, is no problem for me.

I am saying simple minds see simple solutions. Lewis is anything but simple, he is intelligent, creative and sensitive. If you think it was only about winning, you are selling him short. Btw time for you to get over that "always Lewis' fault crap. If you can't recognize that Lewis has faults like everyone and support him anyway, then I feel sorry for you.

I agree with your assessment of Lewis Operaman. Winning is very important to him but he's not a win at all costs man. He would not do over a team mate to take a win. He was deeply unhappy with the teem orders that placed him ahead of Nico in that race last season. That's not his style. And he would never name call, he's mentioned being upset that someone intended him harm but never said who. Despite all the shenanigins at McLaren during his last few years! he's never sited them as a reason for leaving and has had only kind words for Martin. So, whilst he gives his reasons for leaving........he has more chance to win at Mercedes, the bits he leaves out speak volumes.


I think, and this is my own feelings, that Lewis is very loyal and would have gone through hoops for McLaren if they'd been fully behind him, would have ridden the bad years and helped steer them back to the front, and loved doing that,,,,,but they chose not to support him, to squander his talent and that must have contributed to his decision.

I think many do Lewis a great disservice by always painting him as someone driven solely by emotion and deep passions etc, with an implication behind it all that he is not in control.
Lets face it Lewis along with the other F1 drivers are not in the process putting together a PHD dissertation on the ability of the subconscious to express itself adequately using the physical domain

All the deep spiritual, hidden, top secret contributing reasons are always present and irrelevant, the only thing that matters is that he DID leave and as a pro F1 driver who tells us he made the decision after a race win lost by a team screwup, its amazing that we now told to assume he is lying and look for deeper unrelated reasons because he is a complicated soul
