Hammer, watch
the BBC1 highlights and
the Whitmarch interviw after
the race. Not once did
he congratulate Lewis -
Quote from interview -
Jake - "This is becoming a bit of a habit of
the last couple of races, only getting one car to
the finish. At least that car getting tot
he finish is winning
the Grand Prix for you."
Whitmarsh - "Yeh, not a perfect day, but on balance
we've managed to celebrate for
the last two races and I think
we'll celebrate agin tonight, but for Jenson I think tough because it should have been a one, two.
He knows that.
He did a fantastic job yesterday, you
knowhe's being doing it alright and
he's on form and
he wanted those points,
we wanted them as well, for him and for us. That's disappointing.
We think there was a failure somewhere in
the fuel tank. They're very complicated systems for capturing that fuel, so
we'll look at that, but meanwhile for
the next few hours
we will enjoy
the moment of winning
the Itailian Grand Prix.
Then Eddie asked Whitmarsh about Lewis leaving McLaren and Jake mentioned about how this result shows Lewis what
he can achieve at McLaren........still no words of congratulation for Lewis winning
the race.
Coulthard - "You mentioned a hug for Lewis, what conversation will you have for JB, obviously a disappointing result for him."
Whitmarsh - "I'll have a hug for JB as well. You
know, congratulate him on a great effort all weekend, I'll say sorry to him for
the team letting him down. But, you
know JB,
he'll move on,
he knows
we're pushing hard and it's frustating, but
he's one of
the more mature drivers in
the paddock and
he'll be there saying right, I'm going to try and beat Lewis in Singapore. I think
he's got to come away feeling good about
the weekend, frustrating that
he didn't get
the points, but
he's got form. People were questioning that a race or two ago and thats a long way behind now, so
he really has to go out there and score as many points as
he can."
Jake - "And is it getting to
the point where you need to have a word with Jenson about playing for
the team with Lewis 37 points off
the championship lead with 175
left to fight for."
Whitmarsh - "Well I think at
the moment
the dynamics are right within
the team. They're racing each other.
We enjoy that, I think
the people watching enjoy that, so it will be sometime before
we change our mind on that one.
Still no word of congratulation to Lewis on winning
the Grand Prix.

Shocking tbh.
