You really think he would deliberatly look his tyres on the last corner, with SV so close behind him, and risk losing the position? I highly doubt it.

Its all part of the psychology of defending, a good driver defending will be thinking of things like brake testing (illegal here) and dramatical lock ups tht cause the chasing driver to hesitate as he doesnt want to crash into the back of driver 'losing control'

So entirely feasible yes, I have done similar things albeit on a lesser scale

put up a counter argument as to why a driver of Lewis' skill level cannot possibly have the presence of mind when on shot tyres to be more dramatic than is neccessary in a bid to distract his opponent

common get involved, argue a little, give us a chance to rough you up a bit, dont just head for the exit

My point is a driver with Lewis' skill can still make mistakes when under pressure, and I believe thats what we saw. That was all. Apologies for having a differing opinion to you.

We all know it is strongly possible it was a mistake and its widely assumed it was. It was my opinion that there is another possibility, a possibility you said was not likely. i just wanted to clarify why you said it was not likely as you mentioned Vettel close behind him and I pointed out that the 'mistake' resulted in Vettel even more behind him.

So my opinion is that its possible it was deliberate in concept, and yours was that it was not advantageous or desirable therefore not likely to be deliberate

Watching Hammers video it looks to me like the lock up and clouds of tyre dust stopped Seb from a full flat out drive into and from the apex, if he had not hesitated I think he could have accelerated out and taken Hamilton before the finish line

That's exactly where he lost it. I think it was a combination of that but his softs had been wearing out from what amounted to a handful of qualifying pace laps.

Well Lewis was on worn tyres hanging on by the skin of his teeth. Whether he used the tyres deliberately or not the result was the same, he stayed ahead by causing the following car to make an error......two errors I think. Usually in those situations the faster car on the newer tyres tries to pressure the slower driver on the worn tyres into a mistake. Worked the other way though
