I still say they should go to Walt Disney World.

They could promote it by asking the winner of the previous race what they were doing next, prompting them to respond:

"I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!"!

...

I'll get my coat. :hehe:
Yeah, but then we would be forced to watch Hannah Montana performances during safety car laps :hehe:

Uh, who?

Miley Cyrus.... or whatever her name is. Shes nobody

Again, who? I don't pay attention to much outside of my own interests. Too much useless information ends up in my head.

Its a program on the Disney program I believe

Then there is a 99.9% chance that my sister watches it and a 100% chance that I don't pay any attention whatsoever to it! :hehe:

She's a Disney channel star who thinks that singing through her nose hides her hideous voice. The sad thing is that she's actually outlandishly successful, like 16 year old billionaire successful... albeit, her only fans are prepubescent girls. :hehe:

Au contraire! I'd rather have a race in the US to showcase F1 and sorta educate the American public and that way nibble away on the Bushite retro mentality - we've started already with the election of Obama. Let''s keep pushing!

I agree, also with the two locations - the so-called 'heartland' seems to be lost to redneck nasticar for the foreseeable future...

Maybe right-turns are too complex for them? :P

Typical NASCAR fans just don't get F1 and they probably never will. I've discussed racing with several at work and it just escapes their grasp. Americans are all about spectacle, so they like their racing to be no more complex than a cluster of forty-some cars packed closely together moving at full speed at all times. They don't want to see cars spreading out and they don't want to see them slowing down for anything. If the pack thins out or if you force them to slow down (F1 has plenty of deceleration), they're bored. The two motorsports sit at exact opposite ends of a racing spectrum with so little in common that NASCAR fans are reluctant to even acknowledge F1 as real racing.

Further, Americans like things that are American, and are pretty stubborn about things born elsewhere. We reject the world's football, because we didn't create it, and instead prefer American football, which oddly enough involves little contact between foot and ball. Americans don't want foreign automotive manufacturers dominating their motorsports, they don't want non-American drivers dominating their races, and they probably won't go for a motorsport that would almost entirely take place outside the US.

It might help a bit if we could get that US Grand Prix Engineering team going somewhere, but the team would probably have to do pretty well to get Americans to really take notice and take an interest in a non-American motorsport.

I think in my personal opinion, F1 should not race anywhere just for the sake of it. I'm all for expansion and Id love F1 to try and attempt to "crack" America, but a race has to be located somewhere with tradition.

You have to start sometime or how else could you build a tradition?

Well America already has a wide range of circuits steeped in Motorsport Tradition. Indywas one of them. I realise the other tracks are by no means suitable for F1 in regards to standards, but an upgrade at Watkins Glen or Laguna Seca surely beats boring street circuit around a few blocks?

There's plenty of motorsport tradition there. European motorsports are not the be-all and end-all. ;)

No that is not what I meant.
I'm talking about sticking a random street circuit around NewYork. They tried that in the Casino Car Park in Las Vegas remember, didn't exactly work.
I am by no means questioning the heritage of American motorsport. I'm only saying I'd prefer F1 to race in a location which compliments it. Racing at Road America or even a return to Indy would be more beneficial.
