A lot of things may be difficult to understand in the written form...

Image sarcasm;
Image irony;
Image bias.

Unfortunately, the Internet is a double-edged sword. It's great because shy/reserved
people are less likely to feel inhibited in expressing their opinions/emotions because of
the anonymity it provides; however, it also allows people to be less inhibited by social
expectations in expressing their opinions/emotions, because of the anonymity it provides!!

racechick wrote:Behaviour on this forum recently has been appalling; rude, aggressive and unnecessary. Two threads have been locked, which is grossly unfair on members wishing to debate civilly in those threads. As moderators we feel we are very tolerant but patience is wearing thin. Here are a few reminders on how to behave and how not to behave on the forum
This is an F1 forum, people will have passionate and differing views. THAT IS OK. They will express those views. THAT IS OK.
BUT IT IS NOT OK TO BECOME ANGRY AND AGGRESSIVE IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR VIEW

IT IS NOT OK TO BECOME ABUSIVE AND NAME CALL OTHER MEMBERS.

If you do feel your self becoming angry, WALK AWAY FROM THE KEYBOARD.

It is unlikely you will change an opposing view, just as your own is unlikely to be changed, so make your point civilly and move on. You can point out that you disagree without becoming unpleasant. A few examples.....

Well that's not how I see it.......
I disagree because .........
Well my interpretation of that facts is different......
Etc etc etc. you do not need to personally attack another member with an opposing view.
THE NEXT INSTANCE OF THIS BEHAVIOUR WILL RESULT IN A FISHING TRIP OR LONGER BAN.

If you feel someone has behaved towards you in this unacceptable manner, do not respond in kind, to do so results in pages of bickering and is likely to get you included in any forthcoming punishments. Report the post and pm a mod, preferably one who is online at the time.
Finally, if you have not read the forum rules, now would be a good time to do so.
Now lets enjoy this forum!!!.

Well that warning worked then.....

...for about a week....

This is why I said we need a <sarcasm></sarcasm> tag

Shame about mnmracer but I guess there were faults on both parts and it takes 2 to tango etc etc. To be fair, he was trying to have a serious and mature discussion so it's a shame things had to resort to him being banned but such is the life of a forum.

Ues they have been banned. Things where said in the open and via PM's to Mods/admin that have caused them to have a fishing trip.

There are rules, you don't play by them, you risk a ban, you are right, such is life.

I say hit the forum trapdoor button and send the entire membership down to DD's dungeon, no members, no petty arguments, seems like the perfect solution! :twisted:
