I'm rather curious as too how long all our members have been following F1 for my own pleasure so I have started a poll. My reasoning behind this is simple, alot of newbies to the sport seem to only see/understand one point of view and that is of their favorite driver. I feel that so much is being leftout from being so blinded.

I have been following F1 casually since the 1990 season but seriously got into F1 in the 1992 season when Mansell took his first and only F1 world title!

16 years. Since 1994. But with a minor Schumacher/ Hakkinen related hiatus between 1999-2004. (By hiatus I mean I didn't watch all the races that season...)

You've heard the quote about not being able to teach an old dog new tricks? I see your point, but at the same time the sport evolves rapidly not just cars but obviously the drivers have evolved as well and anyone that's willing to follow it for a couple of years and read and join forums like this one... in other words, become a FAN of the sport will get just as much enjoyment out of it as an old timer.

I caught a glimpse of the season ending race of 1997 as my brother was watching it but I didn't think nothing of it until I seen the Aussie GP in 1998 and from then on I've been watching it ever since, even when it was with Schumacher winning all the time.
