No, this isn't some cheap shot by someone brought up in Australia at our British friends 
The powers that be have foolishly let me talk them into allowing me to run a Photo Of the Month competition here at Forumula1.
Rules? Of course we will have rules here's what we have so far:-
1) Most importantly, this is meant to be fun. Anyone taking this too seriously, or getting upset about who wins and why will be taken out back and given a thorough thrashing (don't get too excited DD).
2) Entries should not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory or pornographic content (if your unsure on the pornographic thingy send as many copies of whatever you have to me for review - make sure their hi-res )
3) It's got to be piccy's you've taken yourself
4) You can only enter one pic per contest
5) You can't vote for your own pic
6) You have to vote for my pic ..... oops scrub that one
7) I'll try and have a 2-3 week period for you to find/take and submit your entry
8.) When you submit your entry include the camera use, fstop, lens focal length and iso (you can get this by right clicking on the image file, then selecting properties, then select the details tab. Scroll down to the Camera section and you should find that info there. If there's a problem PM me and I'll do my best to pretend your message got lost in the ether.
9) Submit a version of your image 800Pixels wide. You can optionally submit a high res version as well. Please try and submit in JPG format.
10) You submit your image by sending me a PM with the link(s) to the image(s).
11) Don't disclose the taker of any entry if you are sure of who took it - that includes your own image - but feel free to guess.
12) You can enter every month, but you can only use an image once - don't go submitting the same image in multiple POMs
13) You can use "in camera" techniques to enhance images but refrain from photoshopping. You can crop/resize images.
14) Stick to the theme
15) Winner picks next months theme, and it doesn't have to be F1 or motor racing related (as long as I approve)
16) I can be bribed
17) In case of a tie I'll have some ridiculous tie-breaking method brought in to arbitrarily favour whichever one I prefer who will of course be declared the winner
So remember rule 1, and get your entries in. I will post the entries as I receive them, and remember it is anonymous until we have a winner. Although I won't enter this month, I do plan on submitting some of my cr4ppy efforts in the future (remember rule 16 )
This month will be a quick one so we can get to running calendar monthly - hopefully.

Closing date for entries will be Monday 27th.

this is exciting! 
the bit about the camera 
I can't even remember the make of mine....and that's when I'm not using the iPad to take pics 
it's the things like finding out about the lens and geting it the right size. But very excited about this
