You guys might all be sick of hearing from me about Vettel now, but Vettel-mania has me wrapped. :wavey: If you thought I was crazy and dillusioned before he won the title, wait till you see me now! :P

One thing I noticed throughout the season was that he appeared to change his helmet designs a few times. I could count a standard one, a chrome one, and a Japanese one. Little did I know that he has changed his helmet design at nearly every race. This once again proves the fact that I support the most coolest driver ever.

My favourite has to be the one he used at Suzuka, followed closely by his German and Hungarian one. :cloud9:

I also like how he dedicated the Brazil practice and qually design to his race engineer. The only driver I knew who did this was Barichello, but he only did it a few times. It's also well known Rossi does it in Moto GP, but I'm not a fan of his designs.

We also had Hamilton turning up with a diamond encrusted helmet. That was cool!

I think the Singapore one is the best, probably because how it lights up at nighttime. Very cool.

After that I would say Brazil practice because of the mostly matt black/dark blue finish with the silver lining looks fast.

I like how the Wings for Life charity features prominently on Vettel's helmet.

I think Vettel could make money for this charity by auctioning of his helmets. Many true fans would love to get hold of these helmets and pay top dollar for it. Like for instance, imagine how much Vettel's Abu Dhabi helmet would be worth in 20 years time if he becomes a legend of the sport?

I'm sure his Suzuka helmet would be the most expensive one. But if he had the Torro Rosso one from Monza '08 that'd make a killing as well.

Who is his helmet painter/designer?

Good Question - extensive Google Searching got me to this page: http://givesyouwings.wordpress.com/2010/02/09/how-are-red-bulls-helmets-painted/

On Vettel's helmets underneath the visor you'll see the letters JMD. These guys make the helmets for all Red Bull backed drivers, as well as a few other Formula One drivers, like Rubens Barichello, Schumacher, Rosberg, Massa. etc.

Most of Vettel's helmets appear to be designed by Jens Munser. Although I'd say Vettel has a big say in the designs he wants and they work with him on them. There is also a link to his website there, but it's all in German.

I don't particularly like any of them (or indeed most of the current F1 helmets), to be honest and I agree with Martin Brundle about not changing your helmet design. All those changes must have cost a fortune though!

I think it's his little hobby. Like women and their shoes. :P

I know! I mean, having variety must be terrible. How could a young, rich and successful Formula One driver ever dream of such a thing an absurd thing!

Martin Brundle should be happy that drivers change their helmets, it gives him an excuse for confusing all of the drivers for their teammates.

Azza when you say they make them you mean the artwork yeah? Because RedBull use Arai helmets.

And I don't think vettels would cost more than anyone else as they all wear multiple helmets throughout the season, Vettel just gets different paint jobs while others don't.

Here is a good image of Vettel's race helmets for the weekend up against Webber's. i love it. :cloud9:

Image. If JMD do the designs for all Red Bull backed drivers, I'd assume that they pick to use Arai helmets. I wonder what brand Rosberg and Schumacher use...

haha cool pic

And I think Mercedes use Schuberth helmets, Schumacher used them at Ferrari and they still supply Ferrari with helmets.
