Anyway, I made a similar suggestion once it became clear that the number of participating teams would be capped at 12. I would even go as far as allowing a few teams with only one car to keep them in the fold, have them gain experience at a lower cost and if they excel, they could earn the right for a second car. I'm all for diversity and small team enterprises - you never know if there's an engineering diamond in the rough out there who's not been given a chance because of stupid rigidity and regulations.
