Fry: "We've made it very clear to any prospective test drivers that our race drivers want every bit of practice they can get,"

As speculation builds that BMW Sauber plan to alternate Vettel between Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica's cars at each Grand Prix, Fry expressed delight that a key rival has instigated a seemingly disruptive policy.

He noted: "That will really piss off the race drivers. What are you saying to them? You're saying probably you haven't got a drive next year."

I can see his point. Hint: you haven't got a drive next year, i.e., the third driver directly competes with the race drivers for a seat the following year.

On the other hand, BMW's explanation that it is vital to have somebody ready to jump in if a regular driver is out of commission, makes sense as well...

Also, if it's possible that you might not have a seat next year, maybe it will motivate the drivers to be more competitive and get better results?
