During the run up to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on the 6th July, Forumula1.com will be interviewing Damon Hill, the 1996 F1 World Champion and President of the BRDC (British Racing Drivers' Club).

Given how popular an individual Damon is, we thought it would be a wonderful opportunity for our forum users to tell us what questions to put to the British legend. Simply post your questions on this thread, and we'll pitch the best of them to him tomorrow (the deadline is 5:00am tomorrow morning GMT).

(Disclaimer: Interviews can be cut short and even cancelled, but we’ll endeavour to have the question asked)

hi Damon

im disabled wheelchairbound and have always dreamed of owning a 2nd hand ferrari or lambo
i saved 20k 15 years ago but had to use it for specialised medical treatment
i know there are events where ppl can pay to drive supercars but none of these cars have hand controls-im sure im not the only disabled person who would like to drive a supercar-what are your thoughts on this--regards--Neale Butler

Hi Damon, would you (please!) consider standing for President of the FIA when the opportunity arises?

You're interviewing Damon Hill?? Awesome!!! :D

Here's my question for him;

When Williams signed HHF as your replacement for 1997 and then for the remainder of 1996 most of their support behind JV, how did you manage to overcome this to claim such a well deserved title?

Hi Damon,

As an upcoming racing driver, do you have any tips to help make it to the top...(ask him for sponsorship too ;)). What was your motivation to get into Formula One and do you think you should have more than one title?

Hi Damon,
I am a great fan of your achievements in F1 and have many happy memories of watching you race at Silverstone. You were even nice enough to give me a wave and lift your trophy as you were entering your trailer at the rear of the pits when you won there. But do you think as I do, that F1 is pushing the real fans out? Year after year the general public (who are the real fans) are more and more restricted to the areas they can access. Having returned from F1 testing today with my wife and two children who wanted to see the pits at work, even from the opposite side of the track. Were really disappointed to find that the general public could get nowhere near. Seeing the pits and other areas is part of the experience. In the days you were racing, accesss was for the fans. Now it just seems to be corporate. I am still a fan, but will not return to Silverstone after this GP, as I think the fans will be pushed out completely.

All the Best,

Mat Sherman.

How will you come up with the money for your high-flying Silverstone plans? I've seen the plans, but no mention of where the dough will come from...

Damon,

What do you consider your greatest ever drive and why?

I saw the recent programme about your father on BBC4 and, as a 22 years old who hadn't seen much of the footage previously, was enthralled by the character of the drivers and Formula One in general. In light of this and today's rather media unfriendly and money driven era, would you agree that the sport has lost a lot of soul over the years, and if so what measures could be taken to put some of the 'soul' back into Formula One?

Thanks,

Russ.

Hi Damon,

If you could choose to have driven in any other era of Formula One other than '92-'99, would you choose differently and, if so, which years and why?

Damon,

With the year 2007 proving to be a highly successful year for British drivers. (Andy Prialux retaining his World touring car championship, Dario Franchitti winning the IRL title and of course Lewis Hamilton's stunning F1 debut season to name but a few) What future measures can we from expect the likes of the BRDC to take to continue to promote such a high standard of new British drivers throughout the motorsport world?

Thanks,

Ewan
