What's it worth?

Post by Nazgul »

Hi Guys,

I've come by a prototype part for a car, and just wondered what it was worth for insurance purposes.

What do you think?

Cheers

Looks like it could be a clutch, wheel or brake assembly?

It's looks a bit like a finned brake drum with no lining inside it ?

It's a prototype for a Mclaren F1, around 2002/3 vintage. Part of the brake system.

Smart Roadsters aren't quick enough to need anything that clever ;)

Apologies then, do you have any better pictures of said device?

I would imagine it holds some value, but only to specific collectors.

No apology required

I'll take some more pics and post them up.

The Roadster is a good fun car, once I've finished my induction mods it should fly, the remap certainly helped, a stronger clutch is next on the list though ;)

Wasn't a million miles away then  if there covers, it explains why there's no lining in there !!!

Suppose there must be some McLaren F1 enthusiasts out there looking for something a bit different.

No - it's nothing to do with a Smart Roadster.
