Safety during testing?

Post by darwin dali »

Webber says not good enough, Dennis maintains it's adequate with medical assistance at location including a helicopter. What's your take? Probably a matter of money. I'd say if the drivers are concerned, then a small percentage of their salaries should go to improving the safety during testing above and beyond what is already there, like a health insurance premium. This would help keeping the costs of testing down and would also indirectly subsidize the smaller, poorer teams.

Did Webber give any specific areas he thought weren't good enough?

You'd never get the drivers to sign up to that. However, he does have a point - a number of drivers have had pretty horrific accidents during testing of late.

I don't know details, but it sounded like the amount of medical assistance is not up to par with races (which kinda is a given because it's not an official race or anything by the FIA and sometimes only a few drivers participate at one given location).
