Right then guys, girls, and DD.

If you have noticed the Just Forumula 1 thread, you will know I have been looking at Fanasy F1 stuff. As part of that I have been looking at the statistics of the year, So I thought I would show my findings, it might be of interest it might not.

Mclaren
Chassis
Started of the year well, now have fallen back to having the 4th best car slightly behind the Lotus.

Deveolopment
loosing ground.

Drivers
Hamilton outperformed his team mate over the year, however the gap between the 2 is closing since the 7th race of the year. Now they are quite close but Hamiltons still has the edge.

Ferrari
Chassis
Started mid field and now clearly have the 2nd best car

Development
Gaining

Drivers
As you expect Alonso is ahead of Massa, but Massa is improving while Alonso is at the same level.

Redbull
Chassis
The top car out there and has been by a large margin.

Development
Loosing ground, but are still far ahead of second place.

Driver
A very even contest by the drivers. However Webber has had a slight edge over his younger team mate for most of the year.

Lotus
Chassis
Is the Second Renault team, and 3rd overall, after just pulling ahead of Mclaren

Development
After a rocky start to the season they now have constant development.

Drivers
Kimi has blown Grosjeans wheels off all season.

Mercedes
Chassis
Has been the weakest Mercedes engined car all year, which means at the moment it is 6th place just behind Force India.

Development
Improving

Drivers
Rosberg started off well and has maintained it, Schumacher has started of slowly and got better as the year has got on.

Sauber
Chassis
Slightly under performing

Development
Slightly slipping backwards

Drivers
Perez has shown KK the way, but not by much

Force India
Chassis
Has been the guild of where the engine has been all year

Development
had a poor start but are now staying with the pack

Drivers
Paul has been strong all season, The Hulk started of a bit behind, but has now caught up to Paul.

Williams
Chassis
Underperformed the engine

Development
Improving slightly

Drivers
After both drivers had a rocky start, Bruno is now on top.

Toro Rosso
Chassis
Underperforming

Development
Slightly Droping Back

Drivers
JEV started the season slightly ahread, but now the tables have been reversed.

Caterham
Chassis
As you would imagine is the slowest Renault runner.

Development
Improving slightly

Drivers
Petrov started the season ahead of Heikki, but now the tables have been turned

Marussia
Chassis
The better of the Cossie runners

Development
Dropped back at the start of the season but now holding there own

Drivers
Glock is the better of the 2 but Pic is catching him up.

HRT
Chassis
They have some

Development
Made progress at the start of the year, now slipping back though.

Drivers
Pedro started out strong then eased off but is on a charge again.

Engines
Now I though that the engines would be constantlt about the same but it appears not.

Ferrari
Started out the engine to have, but have now fallen behind Mercedes. development seems to be falling back as well.

Mercedes
after a rough start now seem to be the engine to have, they are falling back on development as well but at about teh same rate as Ferrari.

Renault
The results are scewed slightly because of the relationship with Caterham. However they are still not far behind Ferrari, they are developing faster than the 2 engines in front of them.

Cosworth
Bringing up the rear. However how much of that is to do with the 2 teams they suppy. Development seems to be stagnant.

Wait are these solely fantasy numbers? If so I owe you an apology for accusing you of smoking the funny stick.

McLaren 4th best car? It's the best by a clear distance...

I guess that's why the pool game is fun, because it doesn't take anything into account but your picks. There is no flawed algorithm to get in the way, it's just you and your naked pics. :hehe:

Right then just to quantify how the results where reached.

The following list is the drivers and the number of cars they have finished in front of +1. The plus 1 is so that if they every driver finishes the last driver still gets a point.

Kimi Räikkönen 257
Fernando Alonso 256
Mark Webber 238
Sebastian Vettel 228
Nico Rosberg 220
Lewis Hamilton 209
Paul di Resta 185
Felipe Massa 182
Jenson Button 181
Sergio Pérez 173
Nico Hülkenberg 168
Daniel Ricciardo 147
Kamui Kobayashi 145
Bruno Senna 145
Jean-Éric Vergne 135
Romain Grosjean 133
Michael Schumacher 125
Pastor Maldonado 111
Heikki Kovalainen 97
Vitaly Petrov 87
Timo Glock 81
Charles Pic 59
Pedro de la Rosa 53
Narain Karthikeyan 39
Jérôme d'Ambrosio 12

So DSQ/DNF get no points.

Mclaren are 4th because of Buttons lack of performance in the race and the number of DNF the team has suffered.

It's currently the most complete package since Hungary. by most complete package, I mean strongest over a weekend but only just. Lotus had the fastest car in Hungary but qualified poorly.

Spa, Ferrari was eliminated so we don't know their true strength but yeah no one else was close to McLaren.

Monza, Ferrari were pretty strong but Sauber were freaking fast. Much the same case as Lotus, qualified too poorly to challenge for the win.

McLaren are the best at the moment but not by a clear distance in race pace, they are consistently fast over a race weekend but the margin is almost nothing in terms of race pace.

MCLAREN has the best car 3 wins last 3 races!
