File under W for "What the :censored:!?"

It was bad enough the last two years, but now they're letting him keep his role with Red Bull whilst he's commentating? This is just taking the p**s at this stage.

Whats wrong with that?, DC has always been impartial and honest while on the bbc, and im sure he will continue to do so

Like :censored: he has, his Red Bull Bias has been plain for all to see. But even setting that aside, the appearance of a conflict of interest is just as bad as a conflict of interest, especially in a position like Expert Commentator.

well i would like to think that DC is not biased to red bull, i must admit ive never seen anything while on air, of course he's going to be rooting for red bull, but he gives praise to mclaren, ferrari, mercedes when its due

He would never criticise them, and always defend them, plus his contacts in the team led to the bbc to spend a lot of coverage in their garage, though the last point is arguable that the bbc had good reason.

The coverage is less of an issue, but it would be nice if they'd talk to some of the mid-field teams occasionally. Like you say, the main issue is he'd never criticise them or agree with someone criticising them, he'd always argue their side, sometimes to an irritatingly militant degree.
