With millions of euros in debts and an inability to pay back its loans, the operator of Germany's fabled Nürburgring racetrack, home to many of the country's Formula One races, could declare bankruptcy next week. It may be the end of the legendary racecourse, which first opened in 1927.

What would the world be without the Nordschleife?! :(:(:(

It would be sad if it closes. Its sad when things once great fall into decline. That article said Bernie will be tried for corruption in Germany. That would be good.

Any favourite Nurgburgring memories? Any stand out moments?

In recent years, of course, you have the Schumacher brothers clashing in 1997, the infamous race in the wet in 1999 and the cars piling into the gravel back in 2007.

Maybe Nurburgring could charge all the sports car manufacturers more money to be able to test their cars on the Nordschleife; I'm always hearing about Porsches, Ferrari's and Nissan's setting fastest laps at the Nordschleife in their advertising blurb. Personally I have never been a fan of the Nurburgrng Grand Prix circuit, so I won't miss if it disappears.
