Many formula one has beens have been to indy car ,because the standard is so much lower he might do well, good luck to him.
Absolute nonsense re: the part in bold. The reason that many former F1 drivers do well is because (although this is somewhat changing this year) they are moving from F1 to a spec series so unless they've been at a top team in F1 they will automatically look better because they'll then jump into a car that can only be so much behind the best car on the grid in indycar. If it happens that they came from a mid-grid or backmarker team in F1 they'll then naturally look quicker and be closer to the front in exactly the same way as if they had moved to a quicker team within F1!
I've watched indycar / CART / Champ Car etc. religiously every year since 1993 when Nigel Mansell went there, and especially at the moment with Franchitti, Power, Dixon, Kanaan etc. there is a lot of talent in that field - indeed similar to F1 there are many top racers that simply can't get a seat at the moment. That was the case with Dan Wheldon last year in general before he was killed, where he could only get a seat for a few events, unable to get a full time drive.
The reason that many older drivers do well there is because drivers in general ARE capable of racing beyond their 40th year physically, it's only when the motivation goes that the performance drops off, it's just that F1 has an unhealthy addiction to youth that is not justified on ANY basis.
Sadly, our sport of choice has been dumbed down to the masses to such a great extent over the past decade or two that many fans that have only come on board since then are simply blinded by nonsense such as 'oh, he's over the hill and should make way for fresh blood' by the time they're literally about 33 - as though they are footballers or something.
