Jarno Trulli was fastest in the first practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix. The Toyota driver was followed by championship-leader, Jenson Button, with Renault’s Fernando Alonso in third.
However Spa’s infamous rain showers emerged mid-way through the session, ruining any chance of dry running for the teams.
Thereafter the session featured a number of drivers attempting to familarise themselves with the rain-soaked Belgian circuit, with Luca Badoer providing the most on-track action in his Ferrari.
