Van der Garde hopeful of a test role with Force India

Giedo van der Garde is still hoping that he will secure a contract with Force India for 2008 in a test role.

The 22 year old found himself in the middle of a contractual dispute last season between Super Aguri and Spyker, meaning he was unable to obtain an FIA superlicense. With matters now resolved, van der Garde is currently in talks with Force India and is hoping that he will be offered a testing role.

“At the moment we are negotiating with the team to get a contract as the team s test driver,” van der Garde explained. “Formula One is my main goal as a race driver so if I continue to test I can get more experience.”

Force India already have one test driver for the 2008 season in the shape of Tonio Liuzzi, who is also the team s reserve driver.
