Petrov may yet be replaced at Renault

Russian rookie Vitaly Petrov may yet be replaced as second Renault driver for 2010 – as the bank loan he needs to pay for the drive has not been received.

Petrov is rumoured to have guaranteed the Anglo-French concern £13million to drive for them in the 2010 season, but his father confirmed yesterday that the loan he would need to pay the first instalment had not come through.

Alexander Petrovic told sovsport.ru that the money from the bank had “still not been received.”

It is thought that if Renault do not receive the money by 1st March they will draft in a replacement for Petrov.
