Father confident Ralf will remain in F1

Rolf Schumacher, father of Ralf Schumacher, has said he is confident his son will remain in Formula 1 for the 2008 season. There has been much speculation over the future of Ralf Schumacher recently, the German driver was linked with Toro Rosso however Gerhard Berger has now announced his 2008 line-up, leaving Schumacher out in the cold.

It seems that Ralf s best chances would lie with his current team, Toyota, but with a less than stellar performance so far this season, many believe the Japanese team are investigating other options, possibly in the form of fellow German driver Nico Rosberg from its customer team, Williams.

“Neither I nor my son are nervous,” Schumacher Senior claimed. “I am sure that Ralf will be in F1 also next year. I believe Ralf will stay with Toyota who else would they have? A young driver is, at best, just as fast as Ralf but has less experience.”
