2007 Chinese Grand Prix: Free Practice 2 Round-up

Kimi Raikkonen has continued to top the timesheets by setting the fastest time in practice session 2 at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai. Just as in the first session, he had a tiny margin over second placed man, Fernando Alonso in the second session, the Finn s time was just six thousandths of a second faster than the Spaniard. Massa and Hamilton once again rounded out the top four, only fractions of a second behind Raikkonen.

The Toyota of Jarno Trulli was just half a second behind in fifth place, with team-mate Ralf Schumacher managing seventh, just behind the Red Bull of Mark Webber. Webber s team-mate avid Coulthard had a good session finishing in eighth place. Rosberg and Fisichella rounded out the top ten.

Nick Heidfeld had another woeful session. After gearbox problems in session 1, a hydraulics problem put pay to his session 2 efforts after just 11 minutes. His mechanics worked hard to fix the issue and he was able to rejoin the track for the final few minutes of the session and put in a time which saw him finish in 15th place.

Heikki Kovalainen also had some bugs with his car his Renault had fuel pressure problems around 3/4 hour into the session. Like Heidfeld, his mechanics were able to fix the problem and he rejoined later to put in a time which saw him put in the 11th fastest time of the session.
