Those lap times are crazy!! Seven drivers are within a second of pole!!

I remember a time when the top 6 drivers would be with a couple of tenths; sadly those days are long gone with current regs.

nice to see everyone again! :wavey::) Can't wait for the race, even the prospect of rain is the icing on the cake.

Yeah, welcome back - where have you been all this time?

So, another Mercedes win; Ferrari scewed the pooch with terrible strategy, they had to speed to beat Mercedes but two stops was really not the way to go... that would never have happened on Ross Brawn's watch! Some decent battles in the midfield, Rosberg and Verstappen was entertaining and surprisingly not a single (psychical) safety car. It wont be a race that lasts for long in the memnory, that speaks for itself when the talk of the race is the seagulls on the track. Disappointed to see that the new Renault engine in the Red Bull wasn't as effective as it was in Monaco.

Oh, you dawg - I love Vancouver :cloud9:
I spent some time in Calgary and made the trip over the mountains to Vancouver a few times back in the day.

Good to see you again - also envious of your current abode!

Re the race, great to see Lewis continue his form. But Rosberg, what was he doing? He's a great driver but makes hopeless decisions under pressure - an issue when your team-mate is Lewis! Outside of turn one for goodness sake... :hehe:

However, best bit of the race has to be Vettel's discussion with Hamilton post-race over seagulls (thanks for posting Bladesman). Hilarious and the kind of thing F1 could use more of.

I am getting quite fed up of this tactic from Hamilton of pushing his rival off the circuit in the first few turns of the race, it completely ruined Rosberg's chances of fighting for the victory this time. Just because it is tarmac runoff these days does not mean it should be an acceptable move. :irked:

I think that within the Merc team Hamilton came out of the Spanish gp crash the 'winner' having Wolff's protection and that Rosberg has been effectively neutered since then.

Of course the Montreal first corner incident with Hamlton bumping Rosberg off the track being an intra-team issue Mercedes isn't going to complain to Whiting to have the stewards investigate. Rosberg is gagged by the team and is in a contract negotiation year.

So Hamilton can get away with this sort of thing without worry.

See this video clip. It pretty much shows the reason of why F1 is not real racing right now.

Here we have Raikkonen in the midst of recovering from Ferrari's strategy blunder on lap 30 and defending hard against Bottas and Ricciardo when over the radio he is instructed to "take it easy". It is only lap 30 and fuel is the prime concern more important than racing.

How much racing are we missing because the drivers have to drive to a strict fuel consumption number? Fuel economy contests make for a lousy show!
