We were talking recently about this success is a team one. Here are all the people who need to take a bow, according to JA anyway.

Wow! That was one hell of a forward planning exercise by Ross. All the comments we had about too many cooks, blah, blah. He knew exactly what he was doing and who he wanted for each role. The attention to detail is amazing, and the trust he placed in the people he chose to do the right job. A genius is Ross!

The part about Costa was the most interesting of all. Just goes to show that it's important in management to know what your team is capable of as well as what they do best.

A sad thought, when one looks back to his successes at McLaren in his first couple of seasons :(

Yes it's is Lew. It would have been great if he'd had one with McLaren.

The 2007 WCC was a farce, and in 2008, Kovalainen didn't bring in the necessary points. Unfortunate times.

When you think about the big picture this sport makes pro cycling look like it's on the up and up. :hehe:

Records that Mercedes will (with relative certainty) hold at the end of this season. Since mnmracer only liked records when they were Vettelesque.

Most Wins in one season.
Most Championship Points Scored in one season. (even excluding the stupid double points)
Most Pole Positions in one season. (shared with RBR)

Not bad for a constructor That's just been at it since 2010.

And, here I was thinking the Silver Arrows were around in the 1930s!!
The things you'll learn on a forum, eh?

Well.... if you'd rather learn about the topic and not just score points with half comments on a forum, I will share some light eductional reading.

Like for example the that there was no "Formula One" before 1950, so it would be hard to score points with a car from the 30's. There was no "Constructor's" competition until 1958 and Mercedes previously to that only competed in F1 during the 1954 and 1955 seasons. Choosing to leave the sport because of the inherent danger of life to it's drivers and unfortunately fans. A catastrophic accident killing a number of fans spurred the decision to leave the sport.

Given these bits of information, I hope you'll see that your comment is irrelevant to the records being broken that I referenced.

That concludes today's lesson. :teacher:

Since the History lesson has concluded, can we start the Question Period?

ImageIt's great that Mercedes were more concerned about their drivers and fans than racing!! But, not all the Constructors left, does that mean the other didn't care about their drivers and fans?
Image Shouldn't we be using percentages? After all, today there are 19 races and McLaren's record was based on only 16 races, so it hardly seems fair.
ImageSir, did you know that Ferrari has the record for the most Podium finishes?? And, the most Consecutive Podium finishes, too??
