Formula 1: Ecco l'ala Ferrari copia della Red Bull

Google translation:

The new front spoiler tested by Alonso in practice for the GP of Korea is the first piece of the car for 2012

Here it is, finally, the first piece of the Ferrari Formula 1 car for 2012: the front wing (actually a foreshadowing) that Fernando Alonso has mounted in the second practice session of the Grand Prix of Korea.

The front wing has been installed "on the fly" by mechanics, in a test pit stop, because this operation must be verified. Let's say that the similarity is most evident with the wing of Red Bull. The line is simpler, less tormented. The wings are always three floors but two are part of the main profile and the top flap is one.

The cantilevered blades are longer, so that the words of the sponsor Shell V-Power is no longer broken. Even the side walls have a unique profile, not interrupted on the wing as used previously. With the new detail, Alonso has suffered a long shot, but it is too early to say - among other things, the track was wet from the rain - if the wing does. Also because, based on a different path flows, will need a streamlined "ad hoc" of the car.

A foreseeable consequence of all the "sameness" dictated by the TR. Attempting to innovate is a risky prospect because the FIA are quite likely to ban any new development that proves effective. Better to monitor development in the other teams and simply mimic what shows merit. Which leads to still more "sameness." So instead of being shaped like a tree, fanning out from the base, F1's evolutionary map more resembles a pyramid, broad at the base and tapering at its top to a single point.

I hear that Red Bull produced too many blank RB7 front wings this year and Ferrari have been buying the surplus stock on E(cclestone)-Bay. :hehe:

Seriously though, it's the normal run of things that the leading car gives inspiration and ideas to competitors. Hardly surprising that Red Bull inspired components have appeared.

Ferrari said theyd be particularly radical next year, and theyve copied this wing. Not only is that not "radical" in sense of copying it or design, but the wing is designed to feed the rest of the car, and they have a completely different car for 2012, what is this pointless excercise?
