I think we could easily see alonso getting into third or even splitting the mercedes drivers tomorrow at the start

If we look at form off the line this season outside any issues, and then factor in no assistance on radio, then its fair to expect Nico to get jumped by a couple of drivers, Alonso to grab second, Ricc to drop a couple of spots and Seb to grab third

Instead we get another great drive by Alonso; but, Vettel and Ricciardo hold on to their podium finishes...
Rosberg DNF with "electrical issues"? If I'm a conspiracy theorist, I'm looking at his last two races and thinking "whaaat??"!!

Sagi look also at the first race of the season, Canada, Hokenheim, Hungary, can't remember the others , too much wine!! But look at those and then say "what???"!!!

But whatever our focus and however much wine, DNF's and issues to drivers in qualifying remain a constant.

Would have been interesting if without the SC if Alonso would have stayed P2, even before his pit stop where he undercut Vettel, he caught Vettel very quickly.
Safety car kind of ruined Alonso's chances of holding P2.

Well that all ifs and buts I guess.

Alonso was let off a penty at the start, plus Ferrari mysteriously guessed that the SC would stay out for 30 minutes yet They couldn't even make the podium despite those gifts, was amazed to see Perez lose his nose and still beat Kimi

Yeah Perez and Vergne kicked a$$ today. Seriously impressive overtaking in the closing laps.

Rumor mill is in overdrive!
Autoweek Honda three months behind schedule on turbo V6 engine development

The high uncertainty surrounding Fernando Alonso's future could be connected with rumors emerging from the Honda camp.

It is well known that the Japanese manufacturer, returning to Formula One with McLaren next year, has made an audacious bid to Alonso from Ferrari.

In the past few days, the extent of the disintegrating relations between Alonso and Ferrari have become clear, making it seem more and more likely that he will leave the Maranello camp.

It has stirred real fears that McLaren could dump its protege Kevin Magnussen after just a single season, with many regarding Alonso alongside fellow champion Jenson Button as an ideal pairing to steer the early direction of the works Honda project.

When asked about the Alonso-Honda rumors, former McLaren champion Mika Hakkinen said, "You do have to wonder why they have not entered into any driver contracts for next season.

"This is obviously because McLaren is trying to put together the best possible package," he said.

"Drivers who have won a championship will always find teams that want to take them. It's obvious that when you can get the highest expertise available, you should," added Hakkinen.

But according to Italy's Corriere dello Sport, the wrench in the works of Alonso's sensational switch to McLaren could be some alarming rumors emerging from Japan.

The report claims Honda is about three months behind schedule in the development of its first turbo V6 “power unit,” having encountered problems even greater than those struck by Renault as the troubled French marque prepared for 2014.

The specialist Autosprint said Honda's development V6 currently consumes too much fuel and produces too little power.

"To try to recover," the report explained, "Honda is investing massively and mobilizing people and businesses around Japan."

Are they freakin serious. Dump Magnussen for Alonso?

Why not dump the most overrated, expensive WDC in the history of F1, get a real 2x WDC material driver and let the young protege who has some serious potential learn from a real driver?

If they actually make the decision to partner Alonso with the ageing Mouth I'm going to have serious trouble supporting McLaren ever again.

Koba has proven more as an experienced development driver this season than the bird that cant fly has in all the years wasting Hondas resources and now thrashing Mclaren

I mean listen to the most experienced driver on the grid talk about why this car is a sh!tbox THIS season
“I think it is just a lack of downforce. We started the year knowing we had a lack of downforce but wanting a driveable car – which it is. But the problem is we needed to start pushing it to make it more edgy – and we’ve done that!

But it’s all great planning for next year.”

same o same o, the car has been made drivable for miss daisy despite the lack of rear downforce everyone has had to adapt to, except the darwin troubling amphibian

If they keep him on they deserve everything they get and so do Honda after their previous charity spree in F1

WAIT WAIT, DIDN'T RON SEE POTENTIAL IN MAGNUSSEN? It's pretty ironic to be honest to drop Mag for Alonso...

Anyways, Eddie 'The Prophet' Jordan has spoken and said he won't be surprised to see Alonso AND Vettel join McLaren. What happened the last time two top tiered drivers were in the same team (2007)?
