It's also not about max power either, the Mercedes engine has great driveability, which the Renault does not judging by comments from drivers and teams before this upgrade. I'm sure that Renault are making strides forward, but it's unlikely to be earth shattering and of course with a new stepping of engine comes potential unreliability.

Ha !

Its all god's fault that Lewis hasn't won any races since USA 15.

"The reigning world champion has not won a race since the U.S. Grand Prix in October, a victory which secured last year's championship.

But Hamilton appeared relaxed about his situation in Monte Carlo, saying some things ultimately are out of his control.

"I wake up every morning ready but there's a plan," Hamilton said when asked about the championship. "God has a plan and you just have to follow his path and hope it comes out the way you want it to but it doesn't always happen that way."

"I'm just grateful to be here, it's beautiful weather, there's only 22 of us get to race, I'm at the front of the 22 so I've been super blessed so just during this period of time just to really count my blessings""

You guys need to lose the Hamilton hate and open your eyes...

That's a subjective opinion on your part, based on emotions.
Personally, I don't waste my time or energy hating anyone.

Mercedes is saying that the Red Bull pace is real and that turning up their engine for qually may not be enough.

Could it be that the Mercedes pair will actually have to race talented drivers instead of just doing their intramural match?

From your keyboard to god's ears! The the drivers in the red cars have been an embarrassing waste of money. Hulkenberg in a Force India, did you see his time today?!? Now that guy should have been in the Ferrari, or Ricciardo! Vettel would be wetting his onesies.

Did Ricciardo get the upgraded engine? if not that makes his pole lap even more impressive. Verstappen will have a hard time replicating his win in Spain from second last in Monaco after he crashed out in Q1. This was my point when Red Bull signed Verstappen, he is obviously very fast, but he has these lapses that ruin his own race or qualifying in this case.

I hope that Red Bull's pace translates onto faster flowing tracks that are coming up, overall power is somewhat negated in Monaco, it'd be great to see Red Bull step up to the plate for the remainder of the season as Ferrari seems to be going backwards rather than taking the fight to Mercedes.

I was right wasn't I. As soon the Merc pair had to contend with a talent the truth was shown. Ricciardo made the difference today putting that Red Bull on pole out of sheer will! And yes the Hulk looked mighty impressive, if only he were in a Merc we could have seen a real battle for pole today!

The Ferrari boys need to improve on their qually. But on race day the car does better so maybe Vettel has a bit of a chance. And if god provides rain for Lewis tomorrow he has a shot as well providing he isn't clumsy again getting past Rosberg. I don't think Wolff can protect him anymore if he takes out his teammate again.

Don't go getting too excited Jeffo, it's only practice, we don't know the true speed of the cars until Quali, I doubt Renault's gains are that significant to overhaul Mercedes power advantage.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It ain't practice no more! He got the damn pole! YOU BEAUTY! I told you, he gonna win this race! Merc f***** up Hamilton again but I reckon Danni had this anyways. So long as Blondie don't go all airhead at the start, this one is in the bag!

RICCIARDO IS LEGEND!!!!!!!!

The guy that said there ain't no hate on Hamilton. .. Hahaha, don't need to say it mate, the stench is mighty powerful!

Yes, you were correct and I am happy to admit that I was wrong, I could be classed as Ricciardo fan1 :-)

Everyone has the right to an opinion, not everyone can like every driver, there are drivers that I dislike, as long as no forum rules are broken, then that opinion is allowed.
