"Pirelli estimate the super-softs are 0.8 to 0.9 seconds per laps quicker than the soft tyres at this track, so a reasonable estimate puts the W06 at least a second quicker than anything else on the track."

I guess strategy will be all the more important, this year?

It very much looks like Mercedes will be long gone so it'll be another year of letting two drivers fight, but fight fair without being too nervous about an incident here and there.

As for the other teams, It looks like the tyres are pretty stable but the soft compounds seem to be comfortably faster but also they don't look like they'll last long.

I wasn't referring to anyone catching up with Mercedes. I meant that strategy will be
important for Ferrari, if they want to stay in the fight for second with Williams.

Fighting with Williams for 2nd? Wow Sagi, I admire your optimism.

Using testing as a basis for making predictions for the season is a dangerous game. Over the years I have seen teams topping the timesheets in testing only to be midfield come the first race. I wouldn't bet against Ferrari being there fighting for best of the rest with the likes of Williams, Red Bull and possibly McLaren. Who knows, maybe McLaren Honda have been sandbagging, it wouldn't be the first time a team has sandbagged through testing, only to blow everyone anyway when they go racing in anger. At this stage I won't make a prediction based upon testing!

I would make a prediction at this point, both McLaren Honda to DNF. You can sandbag speed, but no one would ever sandbag mileage. Force India did in three days nearly the mileage McLaren did in 12 days of testing, at this point they would be lucky to go a race distance, let alone expect to finish both cars high in the points.

Yeah I'm with you on that, I wouldn't be all too surprised with either both their cars retiring or both being 5+ laps down

Nope, Alonso is ruled out.
#434001
It can not be Alonso.

Alonso is out and its Magnussen joining Button for the first race of a McLaren-Honda since Senna and Berger in Australia 1992. Berger won that race holding off Schumacher in a Benneton. Senna and Mansel come together.

Interestingly both of the top Williams went out leaving behind an entertaining race!
