Diesel F1?

Engine regs "1.2 litre diesel" powered by negative emission fuel.

You watch it, it's not like Ferrari can brag about engines of late. Here comes yet another potential team for them to fall behind of. :hehe:

Seeing as Audi dumped the biodiesel in favour of electric hybrid ERS the chanes are they will produce an F1 engine way better and cheaper than ferrari who are still buying third party Turbos and bolting them on. Ferraris engine 'mastery' is proven to be restricted to ICE and alas no one takes this seriously in top flight racing anymore

Well this bit seems to be gathering steam like a tropical hurricane. Domenicali has been confirmed to be starting his new post at Audi on November 1. So a serious conversation now needs to happen about their entrance into Formula 1. Alonso has been angling for a one year contract with most assuming he's angling for a Mercedes drive should Lewis leave for old McLaren pastures. OR...sit out a year. Well, we can now see more clearly what's behind door number three, can't we? Another situation where he would bargain and likely granted #1 status, top pay packet and Domenicali pushing things along (with vengeance on his mind). Honda taking a year to develop their world beater means Audi can too. You might even say Audi has the advantage, as has been mention prior, Audi has been using similar tech on their sportscar project. Easier transition and learning curve. They are also very good with chassis and Domenicali brings the added relevant knowledge. 2016 could be that year everyone is clambering for. Big hitters bitch-slapping each other for title glory. Was someone arguing about "competition?"

Such fun!

Nope. Commenting on the lack of competition between teams at the front of the grid, this year.
You, on the other hand, have speculated on what might happen if Audi decides to join F1.
Hope that clears it up!

No Speculation. It is what it is.

These points are what I was referring to as speculation, since none of them are actually confirmed,
therefore not factual, even if there is a "yet" that can be added at the end:

... a serious conversation now needs to happen about their entrance into Formula 1...
...with most assuming [Alonso]'s angling for a Mercedes drive...
...should Lewis leave for old McLaren pastures...
...OR [Alonso may] sit out a year...
...Another situation where he would bargain and likely granted #1 status, top pay packet and Domenicali pushing things along (with vengeance on his mind)...
... Honda taking a year to develop their world beater means Audi can too...
...2016 could be that year everyone is clambering for...

You might as well leave the word speculation out of your forum vocabulary because, based on the things you selected, 95% of the comment on this forum is "speculation." (The rest, things like cheesecake, Kimi's hair, improvements to the parking at Silverstone, etc. would be the exceptions.) And the same goes for things the media, teams, etc. say prior to an actual occurrence/event (race, new sponsor signing, new driver contract signing, whatever). It's a bit of a useless word round these parts because it doesn't change/improve the conversation.

I remember when we were speculating about Montezemonlo's demise at Ferrari. :hehe:

No speculation there. The writing was on the wall, clear as day. Somehow, he's the only one that didn't see it. Must be those tinted sunglasses he always wore. :D

Eriksson confirmed at Sauber for 2015

Quite surprising, although nice for him, because he's had next to no chance of showing his abilities in 2014.

Sutil was very impressive in qualifying today. First time a Sauber has crept into the top 10 all year. Any hope for him next season?

Sutil would be cutting it a bit fine at this stage, i doubt the bookies would slash the odds on him racing next year. I think he is a bit unlucky as the difference between him and GUt was razor thin, but money talks so we would have to raise our glass to Ericsson
