And so the trouble starts, it's a big mistake holding this GP.

Bahrain International Circuit chairman Zayed R Alzayani said: "They weren't targeted. They just happened to be there."

ok, fair enough but

'It could happen in any place in the world really

Really?

'probably' be more violence...

"I can't comment on the degree of violence, whether it will be more or not - I don't have that kind of information."..

But you're telling them they'll be safe.

I clicked on the news ,to see it looking like a full scale war.Only to realise a trailor for the new COD was playing in the bottom corner :hehe:

I'm sure there will be the odd isolated incident ,but the track itself will be safe enough.

This part really gets me - 'Bahrain circuit chairman Zayed R Alzayani said: "They weren't targeted. They just happened to be there."

Yeah that makes it dismissable
Rising number one of Formula 1, Juan - Juan, one wonders should Juan only win one Formula 1 one year, would Juan have won that one in round one, Juan??

I fear civilians will die, many of them. I fear for an attempt, a disruption during the race events, and I fear that we'll be having the same discussion about Bahrain next year. I'm not sure of any of these things and I hope for a non eventful weekend. The one thing that's sure to happen is no one will admit to being wrong in forcing this race to go on.

to play the advocate here:-

Why shouldn't the race go ahead? why should the goverment bow down to terrorists?

The only difference between freedom fighters and terrorists is the side of the fence you are sitting on!

I'm wondering if this was a very isolated thing .....why ?.
If you look on the websites to see is Bahrain safe, everyone is saying yes and gives the green light, travel there without worry. The only thing they advise is not to be out after dark at the moment.
Don't forget the press is going to jump on anything.I've seen it time and time again following England away.If there is 500,000 of us drinking and having a good time ,the press will concentrate on the one guy who has drunk to much and is throwing up in the street.

Like i said before I don't think there will be much trouble, the track will probably be the safest place.

I was at silverstone the year of the london bombings and there were a lot of fans caught up in the chaos of the day. Security at the circuit was stepped up but there was no need for that to be cancelled. The problem I have with what this guy's saying is that the people responsible for whatever happened also want to involve F1 one way or another.
