Lewis showed today that not only he's the best overtaker in F1 but the best DEFENDER as well. He kept the ( fastest  ?) man in F1 behind for 10+ laps.
Today we witnessed why Lewis is the best driver in F1. Best in the rain,Best overtaker,Best defender,And he's FAST as hell.

So whats next best? See him race his way up the grid, and lo and behold, he starts 10th....look forward to another charge tomorrow and yet another overtaking manouvre on Jenson coming up!! It would be the 5th Jenson whipping this year. :cloud9:

:D #5 did arrive as predicted. Hopefully no need for #6 this season.

Lewis Hamilton drove very well today (shame about McLaren short-fuelling his car) and handled himself well in the post race interviews; I quite liked his joke about going to the stewards office and waiting to be called.. If he conducts himself like that in future races I might start liking him as a personality, his driving ability was never in question in my head!

Below is a little except from my blog entry about the race!

Lewis Hamilton could have finished the race; possibly on the second step of the podium based on his early pace but it wasn’t to be as he was let down by McLaren who didn’t fuel his car enough and had to start conserving fuel half way through the race. But I have to say that his interview technique after the race was much improved; I have been very critical of his post race interviews and general attitude but this weekend we’ve seen a massive change, I assume that McLaren team principle Martin Whitmarsh must have had a word in his ear, basically telling him to tone it down!

I’m really disappointed with Jenson Button in this race; despite his McLaren team causing his retirement he should have been higher than his starting position of fifth. Hamilton overtook him in the first few laps on the track starting five place behind. Being a JB fan I have vehemently defended him against the barrage of criticism coming from Hamilton fans but with performances like this; it’s getting harder to defend JB when he and Hamilton are driving identical equipment!

And it is very RARE that I defend Button but he was superb today. His pass on Massa was Hami like, and it seems JB has become very aggressive lately

He was suffering on the inters today and there is no shame losing to Lewis in the wet.Macca wheel man

McLaren have a history of short filling the car at Silverstone. You would of thought they learnt their lesson from Ayrton running out of fuel two years in a row.
I suppose they knew they weren't on the pace and were trying anything for a slight advantage early on,Hoping slowing down wouldn't matter later on.

Great Race from Hamilton, being there live ive only just found out they short-fuelled him, are Mclaren actually becoming Alzheimer sufferers or something, millions of pounds and the simplest mistakes, anyone else would be fired. The Wheel nut on Jenson was a mistake, but short fuelling a car, christs sake.

Anyway he finished the race in a decent position thats all we can hope for for this year  Brutal defending and Merciless overtaking. With Massa at the end i was like NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I think it was just a gamble on McLaren's part. Had the race stayed wet a bit more and the pace slowed for a few more laps it would not have been an issue. When a team is not doing well, their gambles don't tend to pay off. At least Hamilton's drive today showed the best of his abilities, so anyone that's not a fan of Lewis' style is missing out on some really good racing.

I know the Tifosi will disagree with me given Alonso's and Ferrari's well earned victory today, but Lewis' drive was the most exciting part of the 2011 British Grand Prix.

Having been called in for several steward discussions so far this season, Hamilton jested:
“I've got a platinum card for the stewards, so I expect to be there! I'm actually going straight from here to the stewards, just to sit there and wait, rather than go and come back.”

That's the difference today; that was said in jest as opposed to what he said in Valencia which was vindictive and childish... in my opinion!

  Lewis was well on form at the post race party too. No mention anywhere from him about short fuelling. he was full of praise for his fans who were resoundigly in support of him. He said.....cant remember the excat words but, 'your support for me, and the atmosphere here is fantastic, even better than in Spain ( :hehe: ) but this year beats it all, keep chearing, keep waving thoise flags, it really does help me.'
Oh and lewis looked at me THREE TIMES this weekend. At an appearance he and Jens made after quali to answer fans questions. On the driver parade, and at the party. He was ACE at the party.
:banghead: :banghead: Stupid underfuelling!!! Lurved it when he took Alonso..well the whole of the sold out crowd at Silverstone did. Standing ovation in my Grandstand. :cloud9: Bring on Silverstone 2012!!!!

Might be on the BBC Forum on Iplayer for the After Party,dunno..........

And for the love of god when did the British GP become a communist show of force?

Military Jets
Military Bands
Military Anthems

To be coerced into standing up for the national anthem was the most cringeworthy thing ive ever done.

Dont stand then. I dont. I stayed outside the stand this time to watch the red arrows so I missed the standing up bit anyway. The red arrows are superb!!Dont understand the communist comparison.

In a communist country you ran the risk of being thrown in jail for not participating when the anthem (and the show of military force) was being displayed.
