Crazy days in F1.

Cash can't buy what doesn't exist. There are very few people even close to Newey's level of talent and, backed by a design team that's already strong, such a great chief designer can really create a fantastic car.

I always thought AN wanted to leave Mclaren, as a result i dont think they had much of a say whether he left or not?

from memory he said he was going to work at Jaguar, Mclaren cacked themselves and offered him big money and they would build a racing sailing boat (it was for a famous race but the name of it escapsed me at the moment) Newey buckled and stayed with Mclaren. However the boat never materialised for one reason or another and Newey moved to Jaguar/Red Bull

Nothing interesting to add. Just chiming in on not having given up on Lewis when it seems to have become increasingly popular to do so. He's still my boy. Go Lewis!

After Q1, I almost didn't want Lewis to make Q3...I mean, McLaren are out of it. Their pace is rubbish and there's no way Lewis can win this race.

So whats next best? See him race his way up the grid, and lo and behold, he starts 10th....look forward to another charge tomorrow and yet another overtaking manouvre on Jenson coming up!! It would be the 5th Jenson whipping this year. :cloud9:

Man I couldn't even care about the sharp end tomorrow...just hope for a non-Ferrari victory and its all good.
Lewis:

No. Anyone please?? It got locked eventually due to too much success :hehe: :hehe: Anyway see if you can find it, and i'll keep looking. If you think he's 'disliked' now, you should have been around when he first hit F1. That was fun :hehe: :hehe:

2008 wow. Most of the people writing on this thread weren't even born then :)

Also, it made it to 46 pages, so you see the "dissenters" were all decent, civilised people ;)
Came out fighting indeed.

That's what Lewis fans support the guy for...being the FASTEST in the wet, hard defending/most overtakings (as usual), and winning the very tight battles near the end!!! F1 lives again after BORE-fest Valencia!!

And McLaren, hire me to be your fuel/race strategist please, you'll do better I promise.

He showed his quality today with some good over takes and good defensive work.

10th to 4th and even to 2nd at times which was pretty good work and hopefully puts an end to his bad run.
