British race driver Dan Wheldon has died following injuries sustained in an accident. :(

I hate for a driver to get hurt, and it's of course much worse still when one dies. I just found out a little while ago and I'm just not sure what to say.

A very tragic day indeed for the world of motorsports who lost Dan Wheldon today. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family and his extended racing family too. :(

just seen the accident, Indycars on Ovals sure is dangerous, always very sad seeing a driver getting killed behind the wheel, R.I.P. Dan

Just seen it on the news. I don't follow Indy, so had no idea who this driver was - but it was an extremely big crash.

It is very distressing to hear that he has left behind a young family. If it wasn't for that - I would've been extremely cold and say that it is a fact about motor racing.

But I cannot imagine the pain in that family, or how distressing it would've been to be there and watch it unfold. RIP.

Woke up to this news, seen the crash on the internet and it is horrific. Those oval tracks are not fit for open wheel racing. RIP Wheldon.
