And what about you Jacques? A washed-up F1 driver who never won another race after your maiden - and final - WDC. The 2013 season did not even start yet (As of the moment he said that) so quit talking out of your rear; how can Grosjean learn from his 2012 season if the 2013 season did not even start yet?
I do not condone what Vettel did, but what right does Webber have to bitch and moan about getting 'cheated' of a win? It really irks me to no end when people make Vettel to be some big bad villain whereas Webber is the poor pitiful soul; the last time I checked he is no better at obeying team orders than Vettel, take a look at Silverstone 2011; the only difference was that Vettel was able to successfully defend his position. Or better yet, Interlagos 2012 where he had the nerve to defend his position from Vettel despite being out of contention for the WDC. People say he will no longer support Vettel, but it's not like he ever did in the first place. Of course, Vettel has his share of controversial incidents with Webber (Most notably 2010 Istabul and recently 2013 Sepang) but it's not like Webber is exactly innocent either.

To put things into perspective, let's reverse the roles and assume that Webber was the one who disobeyed team orders AND successfully overtook Vettel for the lead, would people actually make an uproar? I doubt it, he may have more of a spine than Massa or Fisichella did with Alonso but he's still the de facto #2 driver on the basis of their results (Beaten by Vettel for 4 consecutive years) and as such I'm quite sure it won't only be the Vettel haters who will rejoice, it's more likely that even those who don't particularly dislike Vettel will be like "Hah take that 3-time WDC taken down a notch or two" if you see my point.

I don't think they will suspend Vettel. Given how close the drivers' championship was last season and how close everyone is predicting this season will be, Red Bull can't take the chance that it will scupper their winning either the drivers' or the constructors' championship.

On top of this, he lied about it.. although he did backtrack and apologise later on.

Most people standing on that top step would be feeling pretty crap about how they got there, Vettel had a unconvincing look of remorse about him.. is this mindset what makes him a champion? Maybe.. there isn't one way to be a champion, but at the point where determination becomes greed, he loses what little grace he had as a champion.

After it is all said and done.. it was fantastically entertaining.. and I don't think Mark will go quietly.. at least i hope he doesn't!

What would you rather have? A stale championship race, or blood and venom?

Go Aussie Go!

Three are two Things I would like to add. All this situación has been seen as a Vettel independent decision. But, on last pit stops, as I can remember, Hamilton went in first. Then Red Bull need to react, by sending Webber in next lap. But they didn't send Webber in, they sent Vettel in. That allowed Vettel to not only protect his position, but also to reduce the 3 or so seconds that separated him from Webber to nothing. As I remember, by that time was clear that Hamilton had fuel problems, he he didn't represent a challenge. So, Why Reb Bull sent Vettel in first?. Webber also had new Mediun Pirellis available. Why the fitted Webber with hards (and Vettel with Mediums)?

So, maybe it was not just a Vettel isolated decision.

There are two main arguments to this view - firstly, it is the teams fronting the cars and the operation, and giving the drivers the ability to perform. They are the employers, and Vettel disobeyed direct orders from his employer. That leads to a reprimand, at least, in most walks of life.

Secondly, and more tellingly, Webber had switched his engine mode down to preserve his car to the end of the race, safe in the knowledge his teammate in second was under instruction (and agreement) to hold position. Vettel ignored that agreement and subsequent orders by racing fully against Webber, not switching engine modes and essentially robbing his teammate and disrupting the already fragile harmony within the Red Bull team.

Yes, Vettel's actions made the end of the race more exciting, and gave us this fall out to discuss for the next three weeks, and in the future will be just another race-won statistic for him. But the outrage from this isn't just for Vettel stealing the win, it's also from undermining the inter-team relationship, showing zero respect for Webber (who has assisted Vettel many times before), and then not even having the conviction to own up to his actions afterwards.

Vettel is indeed a 'quick pedaller'; but he is nothing like a great champion.
