ITV to Screen Practice Live on Website

Having reached an exclusive deal with Formula One Management (FOM), British Broadcaster ITV will screen practice sessions live on their website. Users behind a British IP address will also be able to enjoy post race interviews and highlights amongst other features.

Australian Grand Prix – Thursday Press Conference

The first official press conference of the season was held today, with the three major title contenders of 2007 attending. Renault’s Fernando Alonso and McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton joined newly crowned World Champion Kimi Raikkonen to answer questions from the World’s media.

Hamleys Increase Sponsorship of Williams F1

It has been announced that Hamleys, one of the oldest international toy retailers, is to continue their sponsorship of the AT&T Williams team. Hamleys will see their logo adorn the sidepods of the FW30 car this season, after the company, once the largest toy company in the World, increased their commitment with the team. Hamleys have partnered Williams F1 since 2004, and the revised deal will also see their branding appear within the team environment.

Super Aguri delay SA08 launch

Super AguriSuper Aguri have decided to delay the launch of their new car, the SA08.

Super Aguri had been planning to launch the SA08 on the 19 February, however due to the ongoing discussions to resolve the financial situation, the team have decided to postpone the launch.

Raikkonen fastest ‘again’ in Groundhog Day Test!

Raikkonen once again topped the timesheets on the penultimate day of testing in Bahrain, forcing some commentators to question whether they had been dropped into the film Groundhog Day, where the lead actor Bill Murray was forced to relive the same day over and over again until he became a better person! The World Champion set a time of 1:30.015 around the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, two tenths faster than team-mate Felipe Massa, and almost one second ahead of the lead Toyota of Jarno Trulli.

Raikkonen Flying in Bahrain Test

Kimi Raikkonen again topped the timesheets as testing continued in Bahrain after a two day break. Raikkonen was quickest of the Ferraris, completing a total of 66 laps on day four of the test. His team-mate, Felipe Massa, managed 53 laps until a hydraulics issue ended his test mid-afternoon.

Force India launch the VJM01

Force India’s 2008 car, the VJM01The Force India team have revealed their 2008 challenger – the VJM01. Named after team-owner Vijay Mallya, the car features a completely different livery from the Spyker team, despite being the same car – the livery is white and gold with Kingfisher as the main sponsor.

Italian Magistrate to question McLaren Management

The FIA may have concluded their investigation into McLaren and their possession of confidential documents belonging to arch-rivals Ferrari, but the Italian team continue to pursue the matter through the courts.

McLaren have confirmed that key members of their Senior Management team have been requested to travel to Modena on the 18th February to answer questions from Italian magistrates.
